Over the past several months we have seen many exciting developments through our merger with 50CAN, the 50-State Campaign for Achievement Now.

Today, at StudentsFirst Tennessee, we would like to introduce our new name as part of that network. As TennesseeCAN: The Tennessee Campaign for Achievement Now, we begin a new chapter in our advocacy, one that is bolder and broader in its vision.

We are committed to ensuring every Tennessee student has access to a high-quality education through great teachers and great schools. And we remain committed to our core beliefs that:

  • Students succeed and excel when they are taught by well-supported, effective teachers.
  • Students and their families deserve equitable access to high-quality opportunities and resources.

As TennesseeCAN, we will continue to empower local stakeholders – from community members to policymakers – to advocate for improved K-12 policies that put Tennessee children first. Together, we will ensure students have access to high-quality schools, teachers and resources that prioritize their unique educational talents and needs.

Thank you for all of your help and continued support these past six years as we have worked hard to put students first. Don’t be a stranger—come visit us on Facebook and Twitter and sign up to learn more about our work. We look forward to taking our next steps as TennesseeCAN with you.

Ted Boyatt serves as the Communications Director for TennesseeCAN. He can be reached at ted.boyatt@tn-can.org.
